Job description

The clinical laboratory team provides a High Quality Specialist Diagnostic Service to improve the Health Care of the people of South of Tyne and Wear. The post holder will assist the department biomedical scientists to carry out the day to day technical activities of the Microbiology laboratory for the South of Tyne and Wear Pathology Services which provides pathology services for South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust, Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust., The post holder will assist the biomedical scientist with the day to day analysis of patient samples, registration of samples and waste management. The post holder will also be responsible for running automated equipment within the laboratory.

Based in the North East of England we provide a range of hospital and community health services from our leading facilities, including the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Blaydon urgent care centre and Bensham Hospital, all within Gateshead.
