Qualifications

Your role as a Pathology Courier

As Pathology Courier you will be responsible for the picking-up and transportation of Pathology Samples Specimens Blood / Blood Products X-rays and Vaccines this could be across Medical Centres Collection Centres Nursing Homes Hospitals and Veterinarian Surgeries for delivery to Laboratories in various locations.

You will be ensuring a safe and efficient process as you manage 30 stops per day playing a crucial part in providing quality health services to the people in our communities.

Your key responsibilities will include :
  • Pick-up and delivery of Pathology Samples Specimens Blood / Blood Products X-rays Vaccines and clinical waste to and from referring customers
  • Liaising between Referring Medical Practitioners and the Medical Liaison Officer with regards to store orders
  • Preparation and delivery of reports and stock control in main laboratory
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and integrity
  • Following operating procedure to complete correct specimen coding documentation
  • Compliance and adherence with Policies and Procedures Work Health and Safety Procedures and Quality Assurance processes
About you
  • Valid open Australian drivers license with an excellent driving record
  • Ability to work various shifts including rostered weekends and public holidays
  • Great interpersonal skills you will use to liaise with different stakeholders as well as strong written communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills juggling up to 30 stops per day
  • Physical capability to be able to handle equipment weighing regularly up to 10kg -15kg
  • The ability to follow instructions and use initiative to make sound decisions
  • Previous courier experience is considered highly advantageous
  • Hold a working with Childrens Check or be willing to obtain one
  • You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident or a New Zealand citizen or hold a valid visa with permission to work
