Dyson is expanding its IP team at its Malmesbury campus to manage IP risks and opportunities across new technologies and products. You will provide strategic IP advice, support patent drafting, and oversee global prosecutions while liaising with RDD and other stakeholders.
The role requires a UK/European Patent Attorney, with mechanical, electrical or chemical background, and a collaborative, proactive approach in a fast-paced environment.
Dyson is a global technology company with a unique philosophy - to solve problems that others ignore. It transforms every category it enters with radical and iconic re-inventions that work, perform and look very different. Today, Dyson offers products across a wide range of areas, including audio, floorcare, air purification, robotics, haircare (including formulations), lighting and hand drying. But it doesn't stop there; Dyson continues to expand into new areas.
IP is vital to Dyson as it underpins the company's commitment to innovation and competitive advantage. By protecting Dyson's innovation and product design, IP ensures that Dyson's significant investment in research and development is safeguarded from imitation and misuse. This protection enables Dyson to maintain its leadership in cutting-edge products, supports market growth, and fosters consumer trust in the originality and quality of Dyson products.
We have new roles within the IP department. Working closely with Research, Design and Development (RDD), you'll be responsible for managing IP risks and opportunities, and for delivering strategic value and legal advice. You'll be heavily involved in supporting exciting new technologies and products, which span a diverse range of categories.
This role will be based at our state-of-the-art technology campus in Malmesbury.
You'll be a qualified or part-qualified UK and/or European Patent Attorney.
Ideally, you'll have a mechanical, electrical or chemical background. However, we welcome applications from all candidates irrespective of background.
You'll be comfortable working collaboratively, with the ability to communicate IP matters to non-IP people in a clear and concise manner.
You'll also be proactive, demonstrating a willingness to own and develop areas of responsibility and be able to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
