Job summary

Calbarrie (Glasgow) Ltd is seeking a PAT Testing Engineer (Portable Appliance Testing) based out of Glasgow. The role involves visiting a wide range of sites across Scotland, performing visual inspection and electrical tests, and logging results with handheld equipment.

The position offers a stable schedule with early finishes on Fridays and overtime available by mutual agreement. Company vehicle and equipment are provided, with away-work trips planned periodically.

Qualifications

• Experience with PAT testing of portable appliances.
• Knowledge of IET Code of Practice for electrical testing.
• Ability to log test results digitally and accurately.

Responsibilities

• Visit a variety of commercial sites, offices and light industrial properties across Scotland to test portable appliances.
• Accurately log test results using handheld equipment/software.
• Replace fuses and plugs as required to ensure safety compliance.
• Plan and maintain a predictable schedule with limited overtime.
• Utilise provided company van and fuel card for travel.

• Salary: National Living Wage - £25,775.88 per annum + Overtime Available
• Hours: 39 hours per week | Mon-Thu 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM | Friday 3:00 PM Finish

The Role:

• Visual inspection and electrical testing of portable appliances in line with the IET Code of Practice.
• Accurate digital logging of test results using our handheld equipment/software.
• Fusing and plug replacements where required to ensure safety compliance.
• Guaranteed Predictability: Your schedule is planned well in advance. Overtime is voluntary, and weekend work is only done by mutual agreement.
• Company Van & Fuel Card: Well-maintained work vehicle provided for business use and commuting.
