Job summary

Alexander House Hotel & Utopia Spa in East Grinstead seeks a Commis Chef Pastry to join a 16-chef team, working across breakfast, lunch and dinner shifts. You will help craft fresh, locally sourced pastry dishes for Rosette-award restaurants.

You will gain hands-on experience within a high-standard hotel kitchen and be supported to learn rosette-level preparation while delivering consistency and flair.

Qualifications

• Quality experience in a fresh food environment.
• Desire to gain experience and learn to create rosette standard dishes from fresh local ingredients.
• Ability to work flexible shifts. 40 hours per week over 5 days.
• Experience within a quality hotel kitchen environment.
• Team player with ability to contribute to the team's success.
• Excellent eye for detail and ability to deliver consistent standards.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team of 16 chefs and 5 kitchen porters.
• See our website for full range of menu choices being created.
• Flexible shifts covering breakfast, lunch, dinner service including weekend working (5 days per week).
• Gain quality experience in a fresh food environment.
• Contribute to the future success of the kitchen brigade developing award-winning dishes.
