Job summary

Hiddenwell at Hoar Cross Hall, Staffordshire, is seeking a Pastry Commis Chef to join our kitchen team. You’ll support the Head Pastry Chef with desserts, afternoon teas, petits-fours and breads, delivering high-quality dishes to guests.

This 40-hour per week role emphasises food safety, hygiene and teamwork within a luxury hospitality setting. We value passion, positivity and a willingness to learn, with opportunities to grow your skills.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 Food Safety Certificate.
• Experience in a fast-paced kitchen or hospitality environment.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a busy kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day running of the pastry section.
• Assist with the preparation of desserts, afternoon tea, petits-fours and breads.
• Help maintain stock levels and assist with ordering.
• Prepare and serve food to high quality standards.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene and health & safety procedures.
• Complete daily food and fridge temperature records.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen.
• Assist with menu development using fresh, seasonal ingredients.
• Support and motivate colleagues within a close-knit team.
• Carry out other duties as required by the Executive/Head Chef.
