Job description

Full-Time Production Pastry Chef

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pastry Chef to join our team full-time. This role involves crafting a variety of high-quality desserts and managing a successful team of bakers and chefs. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Opportunities for growth are available for the right individual.

Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate closely with the Head Chef to oversee and manage the entire kitchen operations.
  2. Create and execute a wide range of dishes according to established recipes and culinary standards.
  3. Maintain high levels of cleanliness and adhere to strict health and safety regulations within the kitchen.
  4. Lead and assist the Head Chef in managing a team of 10 or more employees, providing guidance and training to maintain a productive and harmonious work environment.
  5. Assist the Head Chef in handling all aspects of kitchen management, including inventory control, ordering supplies, and managing stock levels to ensure freshness and availability of ingredients.
  6. Monitor stock rotation and implement systematic inventory tracking to minimize waste.
  7. Innovate with the Head Chef and experiment with new recipes and techniques to introduce unique offerings to customers.
  8. Ensure consistency and quality across all products in our four locations.
  9. Oversee the preparation of ingredients and the effective use of cooking and kitchen equipment.
  10. Monitor team performance and progress, offering support and constructive feedback to the Head Chef as needed.
Requirements:
  1. Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Pastry Sous Chef, including team management and production experience.
  2. Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
  3. Proficiency in health and safety standards, food preparation, and nutrition.
  4. Experience in inventory management, including stock ordering and rotation.
  5. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining high standards.
  6. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  7. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  8. Knowledge of gluten-free and vegan recipes.
