Job summary

Oblix at The Shard is seeking a Pastry Junior Sous Chef to join our vibrant pastry brigade on the 32nd floor. You’ll support the senior pastry team, ensure creativity, precision, and consistency across Oblix West and Oblix East, reflecting our commitment to excellence.

This hands-on role rewards leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen, with responsibilities in stock control, safety, and staff development.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Pastry Junior Sous Chef or Pastry Senior Chef de Partie in a quality, fast-paced kitchen.
• Proven ability to lead and inspire a large team.
• Stock, ordering and wastage control.
• Safety and Compliance.
• Eager to learn and develop both yourself and your team.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and prioritise.

Responsibilities

• Support the senior pastry team in delivering creativity, precision and consistency.
• Lead and inspire the brigade to uphold high standards.
• Manage stock, ordering and wastage control.
• Ensure safety and compliance across pastry sections.
• Contribute to training and development of junior staff.

Located on the 32nd floor of The Shard, Oblix is a sophisticated, contemporary restaurant, split across two different spaces offering views across central London from East to West.

Oblix West is a refined, urban dining space with open fire dining and a modern menu.

Oblix East offers diners an eclectic mix of innovative dishes along with award-winning cocktails and afternoon tea.

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Pastry Junior Sous Chef to join our vibrant team at Oblix at The Shard. As a key member of our culinary team, you’ll play a vital role in delivering the creativity, precision, and consistency that define the Oblix dining experience, supporting the team, inspiring the brigade, and ensuring every plate reflects our commitment to excellence.
