Job summary

Education Matters Group is recruiting a dedicated Pastoral Tutor to join the Tutorial & Enrichment Team at a thriving Further Education College. As a Pastoral Tutor you’ll play a key role in supporting students throughout their college journey, delivering weekly tutorials and mentoring to help them achieve their full potential.

You’ll work alongside teaching staff to improve attendance, retention and progression, and you’ll guide students on next steps including Higher Education and UCAS

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people in education or pastoral settings.
• Experience working with A Level students and UCAS applications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate, mentor and inspire learners from diverse backgrounds.
• Passion for student wellbeing and personal development.
• Degree is desirable; pastoral experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

The Role

• As a Pastoral Tutor, you'll play a key role in supporting students throughout their college journey.


• Working closely with teaching staff and the wider pastoral team, you'll help improve attendance, retention, achievement and progression while promoting student wellbeing and personal development.


• You'll deliver weekly tutorial sessions, provide guidance and mentoring, and support students as they prepare for their next steps, including Higher Education and UCAS applications.

We're Looking For Someone Who Has:

• Experience supporting young people in an education or pastoral setting.


• Experience working with A Level students and supporting UCAS applications.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• The ability to motivate, mentor and inspire learners from a range of backgrounds.


• A genuine passion for student wellbeing, personal development and student success.


• A degree is desirable, and previous pastoral experience is advantageous.
