Job summary

St Luke’s Academy in Swindon is seeking an experienced Pastoral Support Worker to join our committed team and provide high quality pastoral care for students with SEMH needs. The role is permanent, 37 hours per week, term time only (39 weeks per year).

You will build strong relationships with students, parents and external agencies, support behavioural improvements, and contribute to a positive, inclusive school environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and young people in schools.
• Ability to build effective relationships with parents and students to support behavioural improvements.
• Able to liaise with external agencies as well as internal staff and teams.
• Committed to their own professional development.
• A friendly, helpful and fair presence within the school.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality pastoral care for students.
• Support SEMH needs and contribute to positive behaviour changes.
• Liaise with parents and external agencies as required.
• Support school staff in safeguarding and welfare activities.
