Job summary

New Forest Care Ltd on the Isle of Wight is seeking a Pastoral Support worker to join our school on a split site in Sandown and Newport. The role will support the Pastoral Support Lead in creating the right climate for all students to maximise their achievements.

Applicants must have at least 1 year of experience as a TA/Tutor or a similar child-facing role. This is a full-time, term time only appointment with safeguarding checks and DBS required.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience as a TA/Tutor or similar child-facing role.

Responsibilities

• Complete and monitor behaviour referrals and incidents.
• Provide input to Pastoral Support Lead and staff on action plans.
• Use Tracker to record issues and identify potential issues.
• Collate evidence for success or further intervention as required.
• Liaise with classroom teachers to intervene to help students reach potential.
• Monitor attendance and punctuality plans with the Pastoral Lead.
• Manage parent/carer/home liaison as needed.
• Support creation and implementation of Individual Behaviour Plans.
• Supervise students at lunchtime, breaks, and assemblies.
• Share good practice with colleagues on a regular basis.
• Promote a culture enabling all students to access the curriculum.
