Job summary

Keys Group is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Assistant for New Ways College to support pupils' emotional wellbeing and behaviour through targeted interventions. You will work within a trauma-informed pastoral team to reduce barriers to learning and promote engagement.

You'll deliver structured interventions, monitor progress, and collaborate with the Pastoral Lead to adapt support. An enhanced DBS check is required, and opportunities for professional development are available.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English are required.
• Level 2/3 qualification in education, childcare or a related field is desirable.
• Relevant training in pastoral support, behaviour or therapeutic approaches is preferred.
• Willingness to achieve Level 3 Pastoral qualification within the role.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted pastoral interventions to individuals and small groups, including emotional regulation, social skills and wellbeing programmes.
• Support pupils in developing strategies to manage behaviour, emotions and relationships.
• Contribute to the delivery of structured therapeutic approaches (e.g. ELSA, Drawing and Talking, Lego Therapy).
• Use de-escalation strategies to respond to early signs of dysregulation.
• Support attendance interventions and collaborate with the Pastoral Lead on pupil progression.
• Deliver interventions to improve engagement, motivation and readiness to attend school; monitor progress.
