Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Support Worker in Portsmouth to provide pastoral care, emotional support and behavioural guidance to pupils facing barriers to learning. You will work closely with schools across Portsmouth, supporting students' wellbeing and safeguarding duties and helping them achieve their full potential.

This is a rewarding role for someone with a passion for education, youth support, and SEND; previous experience is desirable but not essential as training is

Qualifications

• Experience in pastoral care and supporting pupils
• Desirable qualifications include TA levels, youth work and counselling
• Willingness to undertake safeguarding checks and register with Prospero Teaching

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral care, emotional support and behavioural guidance to pupils facing social, emotional or mental health challenges.
• Support schools across Portsmouth to promote pupil wellbeing and safeguarding duties.

Pastoral Workers Needed

Are you an experienced Pastoral Support Worker with a passion for helping children and young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential?

Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Support Worker to work within the Portsmouth area.

We work closely with schools across Portsmouth that are seeking skilled and supportive individuals to provide pastoral care, emotional support, and behavioural guidance to pupils who may be facing social, emotional, or mental health challenges.

Experienced Pastoral Support Workers are encouraged to apply, as well as candidates looking to develop their career within education, pastoral care, youth work, or SEND support. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive and lasting impact on the lives of young people.

Useful Qualifications (Desirable but not a requirement)

• Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
• Level 3 Award/Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning
• Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualifications
• Qualifications in Youth Work, Counselling Skills, Mental Health Awareness, or Child DevelopmentEligibility

Eligibility

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional, child-related references
