Job summary

Value Education LTD is recruiting for a Pastoral Support Worker / Behaviour Mentor to join a secondary school in the Bury area. The role involves working closely with students who may require additional support with behaviour, attendance, engagement and emotional wellbeing.

You will provide consistent pastoral support, help students make positive choices both in and outside of the classroom, and collaborate with teachers and the school's pastoral team to improve behaviour and engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people in a school, youth, care or support setting.
• Confident managing challenging behaviour in a school context.
• Calm, patient and consistent in your approach.
• Ability to build strong relationships with secondary-aged students.

Responsibilities

• Providing one-to-one and small-group pastoral and behavioural support.
• Supporting students with challenging behaviour and emotional needs.
• Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Working alongside teachers and the school's pastoral team.
• Helping students to improve their behaviour, engagement and attendance.
• Supporting pupils to develop positive coping strategies and social skills.
• Following school behaviour policies and procedures.

Location: Prestwich, Bury
Type: Full-time, Temporary / Potential Long-Term
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £110 - £140 per day, depending on experience
