Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Support Assistant to join a secondary school in Harrow. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, with an ASAP start, offering long-term prospects and potential permanence.

You will build relationships with students across KS3 and KS4, support wellbeing and personal development, and provide one-to-one or small-group mentoring. Experience in education or youth work is highly valued.

Qualifications

  • Positive, approachable, patient and empathetic.
  • Ideally educated to degree level and/or experienced working with teenagers.
  • Experience in education, youth work, mentoring, coaching, tutoring, SEN or pastoral support is desirable.
  • Experience supporting students with additional needs such as ADHD, Autism, dyslexia or SEMH is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to build positive relationships and maintain appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Passionate about supporting the wellbeing and development of young people.
  • Calm, resilient and confident when dealing with challenging situations.

Responsibilities

  • Help create a safe, supportive and inclusive school environment

Are you a graduate or experienced professional looking to build a career supporting the wellbeing, personal development and pastoral needs of young people?

We're looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Pastoral Support Assistant to join a secondary school in Harrow on a long-term, full-time basis, with the potential to become permanent. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates and individuals with experience in education, youth work, mentoring, counselling, coaching, SEN or other child and young people-focused roles.

What You’ll Do
