Job description

Pastoral Support Officer – Secondary School

Location: Newcastle

Are you passionate about student welfare and safeguarding? A supportive secondary school in the Newcastle area is looking for a Pastoral Support Officer to help improve student well-being and engagement.

The Role:

Provide emotional and academic support to students across the school.
Work closely with the safeguarding team to address student concerns.
Help implement initiatives to improve attendance, behaviour, and engagement.
Liaise with parents, external agencies, and school staff to ensure students receive the best support.

What We’re Looking For:

Experience in pastoral care, social work, youth work, or education (preferred).
A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
