Job summary

Robert Blake Academy in Bridgwater invites applications for a Pastoral Support Officer to join our dedicated safeguarding and welfare team. You will work within a year group, supporting students, parents and staff, building positive relationships, promoting attendance and punctuality, and acting with discretion in confidential matters.

The successful candidate will have at least five GCSEs (incl. English and Maths), excellent organisational and communication skills, and the ability to work under

• Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 4+ including English and Maths.
• Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Support pastoral welfare of students and be available to students (and parents) in the year group throughout the day.
• Establish positive relationships with students, parents, staff and external agencies in line with the school’s vision and values.
• Provide high quality pastoral support, ensuring high attendance and good punctuality of students.
• Identify, refer and/or intervene in behavioural and safeguarding issues
• Supporting school events, communications, and stakeholder engagement
• Ensuring compliance with safeguarding, GDPR, and school policies
