Zusammenfassung

Kirklees Council is seeking a Pastoral Mentor for Huddersfield to support ESOL students aged 16–18, delivering pastoral interventions and monitoring wellbeing and progress. The role is part-time (22.2 hours/week, 38 weeks) with a salary of £15,090–£15,860.

You will work closely with safeguarding teams and curriculum staff to enable students to engage and succeed. The role emphasizes empathy, resilience and effective communication within a diverse student body, with DBS checks and flexible staff

Qualifikationen

• Educated to Level 3 or equivalent ability.
• Experience supporting 16–18-year-old students in educational/pastoral settings.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students from diverse backgrounds, including those whose first language is not English.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children and vulnerable adults.

Aufgaben

• Deliver one-to-one and group pastoral interventions.
• Monitor attendance, wellbeing and progress.
• Make referrals to internal and external support services.
• Caseload of looked-after children (LAC) and attend PEP meetings.
