Job summary

St Gregory’s Catholic School in Tunbridge Wells is seeking a Pastoral Manager to support tutors and teachers in promoting pupil wellbeing and attainment across the year group. You will lead pastoral processes, oversee admissions and induction of new students, and collaborate with staff to deliver interventions that raise achievement.

The role involves liaising with families, leading year-group events, and coordinating with the attendance and safeguarding teams.

Responsibilities

• Admit students to the YEAR GROUP under the fair access protocol and the agreed entry criteria.
• Work with the pastoral team to create balanced tutor groups within each YEAR GROUP.
• Keep under review the composition of tutor groups ensuring any movement between groups is appropriate.
• Promote attendance and punctuality and liaise with key staff accordingly.
• Lead on year-specific activities, mentoring and interventions and support the wellbeing of the YEAR GROUP.
• Be lead for Looked After Children in the year (with the DSL – RF) and participate in pastoral meetings.
• Complete necessary paperwork including e-CAF documentation and other referrals on individual students.
• Attend assembly, pastoral meetings, and contribute to safeguarding and diversity policies.
