Job summary

Turves Green Primary School is seeking an excellent Pastoral Manager to support the social, emotional, behavioural and educational development of its pupils. You will provide pastoral support, monitor vulnerable students and promote wellbeing, modelling positive relationships across the school.

You will work with families to reduce absenteeism, lead safeguarding as the designated safeguarding lead, build strong home–school links, and liaise with external agencies to support pupils and families.

Responsibilities

• Providing pastoral support, monitoring vulnerable students and promoting wellbeing.
• Supporting behaviour policy implementation through exemplary modelling of relational approaches.
• Working with families to reduce absenteeism, including completing home visits when appropriate.
• Serve as the school's Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), leading all aspects of safeguarding and child protection and ensuring the highest standards of pupil welfare and safety.
• Building strong home-school relationships and liaising with external agencies, representing the school through attending meetings as required.
• Leading the school’s offer of Family Help using local authority processes and procedures.
• Removing barriers to learning and supporting all pupils to achieve their full potential.
• Maintaining records and analysing attendance, behaviour and pastoral data.
• Line managing support staff as appropriate.
