Job summary

Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking two Learning Support and Pastoral Teaching Assistants for Pinefield Centre. The roles are full-time during term time, with hours from 8:30am to 4:30pm (and varying finish times on some days).

Closing date applies to shortlisted candidates and DBS checks are required. Responsibilities include supporting pupils with additional needs, assisting teachers, and promoting safeguarding and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Establish good working relationships with key stage 3 and 4 pupils, acting as a role model.
• Be aware of and respond appropriately to individual pupil needs.
• Work with Sen Lead and class teacher to provide for pupils' needs as required.
• Promote inclusion and acceptance of all.
• Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.
• Encourage pupils to act independently as appropriate.
• Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed.
• Support pupils at break times and unstructured times and with movement around the building.
