Job summary

Sefton Council Inclusion Service is recruiting two Learning Support and Pastoral Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs at Pinefield Centre. Roles run term-time with fixed daily hours and are supervised by teaching staff to ensure access to learning and safeguarding compliance.

You will work with the SEN Lead and class teachers, promote inclusion, assist with minimal admin tasks, and support pupils during breaks and movement around the building.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with additional needs under supervision.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child protection policies.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Establish good working relationships with key stage 3 and 4 pupils, acting as a role model.
• Be aware of and respond appropriately to individual pupil needs.
• Work with SEN Lead and class teacher to provide for pupils' needs as required.
• Promote inclusion and acceptance of all.
• Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage with the teacher-led activities.
• Encourage pupils to act independently as appropriate.
• Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed.
• Support pupils at break times and during unstructured times.
