Job summary

Pinefield Centre in Formby is recruiting two Learning Support and Pastoral Teaching Assistants. Roles are term-time, 35 hours per week, with duties including supporting pupils with additional needs and assisting teaching staff.

Applicants will be subject to enhanced disclosures and safeguarding checks in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education requirements. Closing date 2 October 2026, with provisional interviews in October.

Qualifications

• Two Learning Support and Pastoral Teaching Assistants required.
• Working hours: 35 hours per week, term time only.
• Enhanced Disclosure required; exempt under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.

Responsibilities

• Support for pupils: build relationships with pupils and respond to individual needs.
• Support for the teacher: assist with planning and follow guidance from teachers.
• Support for the curriculum: prepare and maintain equipment and resources.
• Support for the service: comply with safeguarding and data protection policies; attend meetings and training.
