Supply Heroes are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and highly inclusive Primary School in Alum Rock, Birmingham, for multiple Learning Mentors (Welfare Practitioners) to join their pastoral support team on a full-time basis. • Must have experience working in a UK primary school supporting pupils.
• Experience with welfare, wellbeing or pastoral needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and staff.
• Patient, resilient and empathetic approach.
• Strong organisational skills and teamwork.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.
• Passion for supporting young people to succeed.

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral and mentoring support to primary pupils.
• Support personal, social, emotional and academic development.
• Identify and remove barriers to learning.
• Work with teachers, parents, carers and external agencies.
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement across the school.
• Support attendance initiatives and pupil wellbeing.
• Assist with safeguarding and welfare provision.
• Monitor pupil progress and contribute to support plans.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and families.
