Job summary

Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated Pastoral Leader to join a local secondary school in Downton on a temporary basis. You will support wellbeing, personal development and academic progress, working with the Head of Year to foster a positive school culture where students feel safe and valued.

You will oversee pastoral care across the year group, promote attendance and inclusion, and collaborate with teachers and external partners.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with young people in a school or pastoral setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students from a range of backgrounds.
  • A calm, supportive and consistent approach to behaviour management.
  • A genuine commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
  • The confidence to work alongside teachers and wider school staff.

Job description

Pastoral Leader

Teaching Personnel are looking for an experienced and dedicated Pastoral Leader to join a local secondary school in Downton on a temporary basis.


This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people’s wellbeing, personal development and academic progress. Working closely with the Head of Year and wider pastoral team, you will play a key role in creating a positive school culture where students feel safe, supported and able to thrive.


The Role

As a Pastoral Lead Officer, you will be responsible for providing high-quality pastoral care and supporting students across the year group. You will help promote positive behaviour, attendance, inclusion and personal development, while building strong and trusting relationships with students. The school have also mentioned that experience teaching Humanities would be a great addition. This would currently be a temporary role, going until October HT as a minimum, and likely up to Christmas (And potentially longer)

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:
