Job summary

Leeds City College is recruiting a part-time, fixed-term Pastoral Coach for the Digital Arts department at Quarry Hill Campus in Leeds. You will deliver PHSCE and tutorials, support students academically and personally, and track progress to help them succeed.

The role offers pro rata salary from £18,063 to £19,149 with progression, and requires DBS checks and safeguarding compliance. Flexible/hybrid working options are available.

Qualifications

• English & Maths at Level 2 with commitment to achieving Level 3 within 2 years of appointment
• Supporting teaching and learning/teaching assistant or mentoring qualification or commitment to achieving within 1 year
• Demonstrates experience working with different groups of students
• Experience in improving student retention and attainment
• Ability to relate to and support individuals of all ages and abilities
• Ability to confidently manage learning spaces for positive outcomes

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging PHSCE and tutorial sessions to students
• Provide group tutorials, study support, and 1:1 guidance on personal development and academic skills
• Create safe, respectful discussions on real-world issues
• Track progress using ProMonitor grades and target outcomes
• Assist with initial and formative assessments using online platforms
• Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure holistic student support
