Job summary

Coleg Sir Gar is seeking a Pastoral Coach at Graig Campus to support learners within Creative Industries and Computing. The role focuses on attendance, wellbeing, personal development, and collaboration with staff to achieve annual targets.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Managing groups of learners and delivering weekly tutorial sessions.

  • Supporting learners with wellbeing, behaviour, and safeguarding needs.
  • Delivering personal development and employability sessions.
  • Assisting with career progression, UCAS applications, and next steps.
  • Working collaboratively with curriculum teams and support services.

Compensation: £18,113 - £19,654 / year

Description

The college wishes to appoint a Pastoral Coach to provide support and guidance to learners in the curriculum area of Creative Industries and Computing.

The work of the Pastoral Coach will enable young people to better overcome barriers to learning and to achieve successful learner outcomes. The work of the Pastoral Coach will complement the wider support network of the Learner Experience Directorate within the College and activities within Curriculum Areas. The work will require a high level of cooperation and collaboration with other staff across the College. The role involves addressing learner issues and concerns, promoting a positive and caring culture, delivering personal development sessions, and working collaboratively with a team of Pastoral Coaches to achieve annual key performance indicators.

About the Role

As a Pastoral Coach, you will work closely with learners, staff, and external partners to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. You’ll play a key role in monitoring progress, improving attendance, and supporting students’ wellbeing and personal development.

Key responsibilities include:

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

Welsh Language Requirements:

  • Welsh Oracy (Listening/Speaking) - Level 0/1 to 3/4
  • Welsh Literacy (Writing/Reading) - Level 0/1 to 3/4

Essential Criteria:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification
