Job summary

Chichester College Group is seeking a motivated Pastoral Support Tutor to help learners reach their personal and academic goals on post-16 programmes. You will motivate individuals, monitor progress against targets and liaise with teaching staff to support student success.

The role offers a diverse student body with strong support services and opportunities for professional development within a collaborative college environment.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of the study needs and options for post-16 learners.
  • Experience of supporting students post-16.
  • Time management and organisational skills to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Motivate each learner within a caseload and monitor progress against learning goals.

  • Identify student needs and facilitate access to services for achievement support (careers info, enrichment).

As our Pastoral Support Tutor, you will:
  • Motivate each individual learner within a caseload and monitor their progress against their learning goals.
  • Encourage each student to engage in personal evaluation, reflection and target setting, using value added to measure progression (where appropriate).
  • Identify student needs and facilitate access to appropriate services to support achievement, such as additional support, careers advice and the enrichment programme.
  • Liaise with all involved in a student’s chosen programme of study (including teachers, study programme leaders and Heads of Learning) to address any concerns and support student success.
