Job summary

Chichester College Group is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Support Tutor to help learners succeed. You will deliver pastoral and academic guidance to full-time learners in 1:1 and group settings, including weekly Personal Development Programme sessions.

The role emphasises supporting attendance, progression for 16–18-year-olds, and a positive, inclusive learning environment. You will work Monday to Thursday and contribute to a supportive team with extensive staff benefits.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering learning advice to students in 1:1 or group settings.
  • Understanding of study needs and progression opportunities for 16–18-year-olds.
  • Administrative experience with Microsoft applications, including creating Personal Development Programme sessions.
  • Ability to deliver weekly Personal Development topics to groups with engaging activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pastoral and academic support to full-time learners 1:1 and in groups, including weekly Personal Development Programme sessions.
  • Support and motivate students to achieve their potential and ensure a positive college experience.
  • Contribute to achieving high attendance and success targets for each student.

Pastoral Support Tutor

As our Pastoral Support Tutor, you will:
  • providepastoral and academic support to ourfull-timelearners on a 1:1 and group basis, including weekly sessions of the Personal Development Programme.
  • support and motivate our students to achieve their full potential at college, ensuring they have an outstanding and fulfilling experience at college.
  • take an active role in the achievement of high individual student attendance and success rates, meeting or surpassing the relevant targets for each.

What you will bring to the role:
  • Experience of delivering learning advice to students in a 1:1 or group situation.
  • Understanding of the study needs of and progression opportunities of 16-18-year-olds.
  • Administrative experience, including the use of Microsoft applications, including creating sessions to be delivered in Personal Development Program.
  • Confident to deliver to a group of students on Personal Development topics on a weekly basis, with engaging activities to support engagement.
  • Self-motivation with the ability to be innovative and to display initiative.

The working pattern for this role will be Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 5pm (with an hour lunch break) and Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm
