Job summary

Plumstead Manor School in London is seeking a Behaviour Support Worker to contribute to daily pastoral care, monitor behaviour, attendance and punctuality, and support staff in applying the school's behaviour policy.

You will supervise students, assist with on-call and restorative rooms, and provide 1:1 or small group literacy and numeracy interventions under supervision.

Qualifications

• Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths with experience of working with children and young people.
• Commitment to the school's Equal Opportunities Policy.
• Ability to lead 1:1 or group behaviour intervention sessions.
• Ability to speak an additional language is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor the movement of students around the site during lesson times.
• Supervise students across the site during lunch time.
• Support the operation and monitoring of the Internal Exclusion and Restorative rooms as appropriate.
• Support the effective operation of the on-call system to remove students from lessons as necessary.
• Under supervision provide mentoring and tailored literacy and numeracy catch-up interventions which are evidenced based and therapeutic to students on a 1:1 and small group basis.
