Job summary

New Horizons Primary School is seeking a proactive Behaviour & Support Officer to help ensure every child feels supported, safe and ready to learn. You will work closely with the SENCo, Behaviour Lead and pastoral team to provide targeted support to pupils and help them overcome barriers to learning.

The role includes one-to-one mentoring, promoting positive behaviour and collaborating with families and external agencies to support pupil wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children or young people in an education, pastoral, behaviour, SEND or similar setting.
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
• Commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality in all duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one mentoring and targeted interventions to help pupils manage behaviour and engage with learning.
• Promote high standards of behaviour, attendance and punctuality and reinforce positive rewards.
• Support pupils during transitions, break and lunchtimes, attending to individual needs.
• Collaborate with parents, carers, colleagues and external agencies to support pupil wellbeing.
• Assist SENCo, Behaviour Lead and Designated Safeguarding Lead with pastoral and administrative tasks.
