Job summary

Axis CLC, a national maintenance and refurbishment provider, is hiring a Fire Door Surveyor to deliver surveys across East Anglia and surrounding areas. You will survey and supervise installations, using Plan Radar and related apps, with travel to Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridge, Peterborough, and Hertfordshire.

A 3+ year background in fire door surveying is preferred, alongside basic IT skills and a clean driving license.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years’ experience as Fire door surveyor.
• Fire door installer background preferred.
• Strong knowledge of passive fire regulations.
• Familiar with FIRAS / BM Trada certs (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Survey Fire Doors in Social Housing, MOD, Health care settings, Care homes and educational settings using surveying app.
• Supervise Fire Door installations and provide guidance.
• Cover the East Anglia area: Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridge, Peterborough and Hertfordshire; travel may be required.
• Work in a team and lone working environments.
• Troubleshoot issues and rectify to compliant standards; adjust closers, locks, and letterboxes as needed.
• Record surveys on Plan Radar app (training provided).

What You’ll Deliver

• Surveying of Fire Doors, within, Social Housing, MOD, Health care settings, Care homes, and educational settings using surveying app.
• Supervising, guidance and advice of Fire Door installations.
• Covering the East Anglia area, Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridge, Peterborough and Hertfordshire. (Travel outside these areas maybe required from time to time)
• Working within a team and lone working
• Trouble shooting issues and rectifying to compliant standards and best practice, on occasion, adjusting closers, changing locks and replacement of FR Letterboxes etc.
• All surveys to be recorded on supplied iPad using Plan Radar application (Training will be given).

About you

• Minimum of 3+ years’ experience as Fire door surveyor (Preferred)
• Fire Door installer background (Preferred)
• Strong knowledge within Passive fire industry (regulations, certification etc)
• Basic IT competency.
• Familiar with FIRAS and/or B.M Trada certification schemes (Preferred)
• Experience with using fire evidence-based apps like, Plan radar, Bolster, CCS Systems, site audit pro etc. (Preferred but training will be given).
• Polite, Friendly, flexible can-do attitude.
• A strong team player, but able to carry out lone working too.
• Strong interest in fire safety and willingness to increase knowledge and new challenges.
• Clean Driving Licence.
• Small Basic tool kit, hand tools and battery drill/driver
• SSSTS or SMSTS (Preferred)
