Job summary

Axis CLC is seeking a Fire Stopper to join our national maintenance and refurbishment team in the UK. You will deliver high-quality passive fire protection works on a variety of sites, ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations and company standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in fire stopping in occupied and unoccupied properties.
• CSCS Card held and up-to-date on-site safety practices.
• Experience with passive fire protection systems and fire safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all aspects of fire stopping installations and remedial works.
• Install and maintain passive fire protection systems (fire batting, mastic, collars, wraps, sealants).
• Ensure works meet fire safety regulations and manufacturer specs.
• Conduct site inspections to identify fire stopping needs and defects.
• Record completed works using company systems and software.
• Work independently and as part of a team across sites.
• Coordinate with site management to ensure safe, efficient delivery.

Job description

The Role

To support our continued growth, we are currently seeking a Fire Stopper to join our team. We are looking for someone who demonstrates a polite, friendly and flexible can-do attitude, is a strong team player, and has a genuine interest in fire safety. The successful candidate will have experience in passive fire protection and the ability to deliver high-quality fire stopping works in line with industry regulations and company standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all aspects of fire stopping installations and remedial works
• Install and maintain passive fire protection systems, including fire batting, fire mastic, fire collars, fire wraps and fire-rated sealants
• Ensure all works are completed in accordance with relevant fire safety regulations and manufacturer specifications
• Conduct site inspections to identify fire stopping requirements and defects
• Accurately record completed works using company systems and software
• Work independently and as part of a team across a variety of sites
• Liaise with site management and supervisors to ensure works are delivered safely and efficiently
• Maintain high standards of health and safety at all times
• Ensure all documentation and photographic evidence is completed and submitted as required

About You

• Proven experience working as a Fire Stopper within occupied and unoccupied properties
• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Passive Fire Protection, Construction or a relevant trade (desirable)
• FIRAS, FPA, IFC or equivalent passive fire protection accreditation (desirable)
• CSCS Card
• Experience working within social housing, healthcare, education, commercial or public sector environments
• Strong understanding of passive fire protection systems and current fire safety standards
• Knowledge and awareness of health and safety requirements on site
• Ability to interpret specifications and scope of works
• Excellent attention to detail and quality standards
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work on your own initiative
