Job summary

Axis, part of Axis CLC, is a trusted property services specialist delivering responsive repairs, planned works, refurbishments and voids across the UK. We are seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to oversee fire protection works across multiple sites in Essex, delivering safely, on time and within budget.

You will lead site teams and subcontractors, manage safety documentation and collaborate with residents, clients and internal teams to ensure a smooth delivery while maintaining high quality

Qualifications

• Proven experience supervising active and passive fire protection works within social housing.
• Strong knowledge of passive fire protection systems (fire stopping, compartmentation, fire doors, cavity barriers, intumescent coatings).
• Experience overseeing active fire protection installations (alarms, emergency lighting, smoke control).
• Experience managing direct labour and subcontractors to deliver safely, on time, to quality standards.
• Good understanding of fire safety legislation, Building Regulations, and British Standards.
• Experience with Health & Safety, RAMS, and compliance processes.
• Experience leading teams and monitoring performance metrics.
• IT proficiency (Microsoft Office, mobile work management systems).
• CSCS card and supervisory safety training (SSSTS/SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely preferred).
• FIA, FDIS, FIRAS, BM Trada or equivalent fire industry qualifications (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Lead site-based teams and subcontractors to complete fire safety installations safely and to high quality.
• Drive programme performance, maintain regulatory compliance, and support delivery of fire safety improvement works.
• Ensure works comply with Health & Safety, quality and regulatory standards.
• Deliver toolbox talks, risk assessments and site inspections.
• Coordinate site activity, manage subcontractors, and liaise with residents and clients.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to oversee the successful delivery of both active and passive fire protection works across multiple sites throughout Essex. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day site operations, ensuring all projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with relevant fire safety regulations and quality standards.

What You’ll Do

• Lead site-based teams and subcontractors, ensuring all fire safety installations, including fire doors, fire stopping, alarms, and associated systems, are completed safely, compliantly, and to the highest quality standards.
• Work closely with clients, operatives, and project stakeholders, drive programme performance, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting the successful delivery of critical fire safety improvement works.
• Ensure all works comply with Health & Safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Deliver toolbox talks, risk assessments, and site inspections, promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
• Coordinating site activity, managing subcontractors, and working closely with Resident Liaison Officers, clients, and internal teams to ensure a smooth and positive experience for residents.

About You

• Proven experience supervising active and passive fire protection works within social housing.
• Strong knowledge of passive fire protection systems, including fire stopping, compartmentation, fire doors, cavity barriers, and intumescent coatings.
• Experience overseeing active fire protection installations, including fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, smoke control systems, and associated fire safety works.
• Demonstrable experience managing direct labour and subcontractors to ensure work is delivered safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.
• Good understanding of current fire safety legislation, Building Regulations, and relevant British Standards.
• Experience of Health & Safety, RAMS, and compliance processes.
• Experience managing teams and monitoring performance metrics.
• IT proficiency (Microsoft Office, mobile work management systems).
• CSCS card and supervisory safety training (SSSTS / SMSTS and/or IOSH Managing Safely preferred).
• FIA, FDIS, FIRAS, BM Trada or equivalent fire industry qualifications (desirable)
