Job summary

Axis CLC Group is hiring a Fire Door Surveyor to inspect fire door installations across social housing, MOD, healthcare, care homes and education sites in East Anglia. Surveys are recorded on an iPad using Plan Radar, with training provided to ensure accuracy and compliance.

The role requires 3+ years’ experience in fire door surveying, familiarity with FIRAS/B.M Trada (preferred), a clean driving licence and the ability to work in teams or alone.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience as fire door surveyor
• Fire door installer background (preferred)
• Strong knowledge of passive fire industry regulations and certification
• Basic IT competency
• FIRAS and BM Trada schemes (preferred)
• Experience with fire evidence-based apps (Plan Radar, Bolster, CCS Systems, Site Audit Pro)
• Polite, friendly, flexible attitude
• Team player but able to work lone
• Interest in fire safety and willingness to learn
• Clean driving licence
• Small basic toolkit and drill/driver
• SSSTS or SMSTS (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Survey fire doors in social housing, MOD, healthcare, care homes and education sites using surveying app.
• Supervise and advise on fire door installations.
• Cover East Anglia area; travel beyond may be required.
• Work in a team and also independently.
• Troubleshoot issues and ensure compliance; adjust closers, change locks and replace letterboxes.
• Record surveys on iPad using Plan Radar (training provided).

What You’ll Deliver

• Surveying of Fire Doors, within, Social Housing, MOD, Health care settings, Care homes, and educational settings using surveying app.
• Supervising, guidance and advice of Fire Door installations.
• Covering the East Anglia area, Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridge, Peterborough and Hertfordshire. (Travel outside these areas maybe required from time to time)
• Working within a team and lone working
• Trouble shooting issues and rectifying to compliant standards and best practice, on occasion, adjusting closers, changing locks and replacement of FR Letterboxes etc.
• All surveys to be recorded on supplied iPad using Plan Radar application (Training will be given).

About you

• Minimum of 3+ years’ experience as Fire door surveyor (Preferred)
• Fire Door installer background (Preferred)
• Strong knowledge within Passive fire industry (regulations, certification etc)
• Basic IT competency.
• Familiar with FIRAS and/or B.M Trada certification schemes (Preferred)
• Experience with using fire evidence-based apps like, Plan radar, Bolster, CCS Systems, site audit pro etc. (Preferred but training will be given).
• Polite, Friendly, flexible can-do attitude.
• A strong team player, but able to carry out lone working too.
• Strong interest in fire safety and willingness to increase knowledge and new challenges.
• Clean Driving Licence.
• Small Basic tool kit, hand tools and battery drill/driver
• SSSTS or SMSTS (Preferred)

An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check will be carried out.
