Magenta Recruitment is seeking an experienced Fire Door Surveyor to cover East Anglia. You will conduct detailed surveys across social housing, healthcare, and education sites, ensuring compliance with fire regulations and standards.

The role requires 2+ years in fire door surveying, familiarity with PlanRadar or similar apps, and the ability to work independently or in a team. A valid UK driving licence and a toolkit are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Fire Door Surveyor.
• Strong knowledge of fire regulations, certification and compliance standards.
• Background as a Fire Door Installer (preferred).
• Familiarity with FIRAS and BM TRADA certification schemes (preferred).
• Experience using fire evidence or audit apps (PlanRadar/Bolster/CCS/Site Audit Pro).
• SSSTS or SMSTS (preferred).
• Full, clean UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct surveys of fire doors.
• Record surveys accurately using the PlanRadar app (training provided).
• Supervise and provide technical support to Fire Door teams.
• Identify non-compliant installations and provide compliant solutions.
• Troubleshoot onsite and perform minor remedial works (closers, locks, FR letterboxes).
• Ensure works meet FIRAS/BM TRADA and current fire safety regulations.

Fire Door Surveyor

Starting Salary £45,780/Per Annum (Perm Contract)

40 hour working week

Covering East Anglia

Reporting to: Fire Department Manager

Magenta Recruitment are looking for an experienced Fire Door Surveyorin the East Anglia area to work with a property maintenance and refurbishment contractor located in the Suffolk. Joining a growing Fire Safety team, delivering compliant surveying, technical oversight and supervision across live environments throughout East Anglia. This is a key technical role focused on fire doors.

The right candidate will carry out detailed surveys across social housing, MOD, healthcare, care home and education sites, while providing guidance and support to Fire Door teams to ensure works meet compliant standards and best practice. The role involves both team-based and lone working, with travel across Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridge, Peterborough and Hertfordshire.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct surveys of fire doors.
• Record all surveys accurately using the PlanRadar app (training provided).
• Supervise and provide technical support to Fire Door teams.
• Identify non-compliant installations and provide solutions in line with regulations and certification standards.
• Troubleshoot issues onsite and carry out minor remedial works where required (e.g. adjusting closers, changing locks, replacing FR letterboxes).
• Ensure all works align with FIRAS / BM TRADA requirements and current fire safety regulations.
• Maintain professional standards when working within occupied properties.

Required:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Fire Door Surveyor.
• Strong knowledge of fire regulations, certification and compliance standards.
• Background as a Fire Door Installer (preferred).
• Familiarity with FIRAS and/or BM TRADA certification schemes (preferred).
• Experience using fire evidence or audit apps (e.g. PlanRadar, Bolster, CCS Systems, Site Audit Pro) – training provided.
• SSSTS or SMSTS (preferred).
• Full clean UK driving licence.
• Basic toolkit including hand tools and battery drill/driver.
• Professional, reliable and flexible approach with the ability to work independently and within a team.
• Strong interest in developing technical fire safety knowledge.
