Job summary

South Tyneside Council is seeking two Passenger Assistant posts in Fleet Services to supervise pupils on a dedicated school transport service and ensure their safe journey from home to school.

Hours are approx. 7.30am–9.30am and 3.00pm–5.00pm, term-time only with 5 additional days. DBS checks will be carried out; an Enhanced DBS disclosure is required. Two posts available.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils and ensure their safe passage on the school transport
• Work with the driver to monitor behaviour and safety
• Be aware of local area to assist navigation when needed

Passenger Assistant (20 hpw, Term Time Only + 5 Days) x 2 Posts (Fleet Services)

£26,016 pa pro rata

Hours of Work Approximately 7.30 am - 9.30 am and 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm

You will travel on a dedicated school transport service and be responsible for supervising pupils and ensuring their safe passage from home to school, working alongside the driver of the transport. Some knowledge of the local area would be helpful.
