Job summary

South Tyneside Council is recruiting three casual Pool Drivers for School Transport, to join a pool working with a Passenger Assistant to transport children to and from school on an as‑and‑when‑required basis.

The role is pro rata, with a salary of £26,016 per annum (£13.48 per hour). It sits within Fleet Services and will be subject to enhanced DBS and other pre‑employment checks.

Qualifications

• Ability to transport/reliably transport children to and from school.
• Willingness to work on an as and when required basis.
• Enhanced DBS disclosure and other pre‑employment checks will be sought.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and young people to and from school alongside a Passenger Assistant.
• Work within Fleet Services to ensure safe and timely school transport.
