Job summary

Interaction Recruitment is seeking a Parts Advisor in Peterborough to support a busy automotive parts department.

You will identify and supply correct parts, manage stock, and maintain strong supplier and customer relationships in a fast-paced workshop environment.

Responsibilities

Parts Advisor

Location: Peterborough
Salary: £28,000 – £33,000 per annum, depending on experience
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday

The Opportunity

Interaction Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Parts Advisor to join a well-established and successful automotive business in Peterborough.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Automotive Parts Advisor looking to join a professional, busy environment where strong product knowledge, customer service and attention to detail are highly valued.

You will play a key role in ensuring the workshop and customers receive the correct parts efficiently and on time, whilst maintaining accurate stock levels and building strong relationships with suppliers and customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and supply the correct automotive parts to customers and workshop technicians
• Take parts enquiries by telephone, email and in person
• Source and order parts from manufacturers and suppliers
• Check availability, pricing and delivery times
• Maintain accurate stock records and carry out regular stock checks
• Receive, inspect and correctly store incoming parts
• Pick and prepare parts for workshop use, customer collection or delivery
• Process parts orders, invoices, credits and returns
• Liaise closely with workshop technicians and service teams
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers
• Identify opportunities to maximise parts sales and promote additional products
• Ensure the parts department is organised, efficient and commercially focused
• Maintain high standards of customer service at all times

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience within an automotive parts environment, such as a main dealership, independent garage, motor factor or automotive parts business.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Parts Advisor, Parts Consultant or similar automotive role
• Good knowledge of vehicle parts and components
• Experience using parts catalogues and computerised stock systems
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Good attention to detail and organisational ability
• The ability to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced environment
• A commercially minded approach with the confidence to identify sales opportunities
• Good IT skills
• The ability to work effectively as part of a wider workshop/after-sales team
• A full UK driving licence would be advantageous
