Job summary

Christ Church Tunbridge Wells is seeking a part-time Youth Assistant to support our youth ministry for ages 11-18, modelling faith and encouraging growth in a lively, committed church environment.

You will work with the Youth Lead, assist in sessions, coordinate volunteers, and help organise trips and social activities while maintaining strong links with families and the wider church community.

Qualifications

• Strong personal faith and commitment to Christ Church.
• Desire to reach out to young people and share faith with them.
• Able to engage with youth beyond the church fringe.

Responsibilities

• Be a full member of the staff team and attend staff meetings and prayer times.
• Support leadership of the youth ministry on Sundays and during the week.
• Prepare and deliver youth ministry sessions.
• Oversee and facilitate a youth social programme.
• Collaborate with the Director of Children’s Work and Youth Lead.
• Recruit, train and organise volunteer teams for youth ministry.
• Organise and administer youth trips including residential camps/weekends.
• Handle administrative basics like newsletters on Canva and risk assessments.
• Build relationships with families and involve them in church life.
• Attend evening youth team meetings and prepare volunteer rotas.
