Job summary

Children and Families First Delaware Inc is seeking a Part-Time Food Service Specialist for a therapeutic residential program serving youth ages 11–18. You will prepare nutritious meals and support residents in developing life skills in the kitchen.

You will manage daily kitchen operations, handle inventory, and lead a weekly life-skills class while providing crisis support and ensuring safety standards with ServSafe certification.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• Certification: Active ServSafe Certification required.
• Experience: Previous experience in food services preferred.
• Cultural Competence: Ability to interact sensitively with a culturally diverse youth population.
• Driving Record: Valid driver’s license that meets the agency’s insurance standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan, shop for, and prepare nutritionally balanced daily meals; store leftovers safely.
• Manage inventory for food and household supplies; keep kitchen safe and efficient.
• Lead a weekly life skills class; provide crisis support and supervise youth during kitchen activities.
• Maintain ServSafe certification and follow health standards.
