Job summary

Action for Children in Kilbarchan, Renfrewshire, is looking for a Young Person’s Worker to empower young people and support their wellbeing in community settings. This is a permanent, part-time role (20 hours) with a focus on person-centered care and safeguarding.

You’ll work with families and groups, delivering meaningful activities, building resilience, and providing a safe environment. Travel and driving may be required; training and supervision are provided to aid career progression.

Qualifications

• Prefer qualification in a social care discipline, but open to relevant experience.
• Experience of working with disabled young people and in community environments.
• Ability to use MS Office to record case notes.
• Excellent communication skills enabling engagement with young people and families.
• Understanding safeguarding procedures and how to act on concerns.
• Positive approach, creating a fun environment for children.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment for young people to enjoy time with friends.
• Give families the break they need to continue supporting their children.
• Assist the children in all aspects of their care and support their health and wellbeing.
• Provide children with meaningful and fun activities within their local and wider community.
