Job summary

British Heart Foundation Maidstone is seeking a part-time Warehouse Assistant to support our busy furniture store. You’ll sort, check and prepare donations, keep the shop floor stocked and work with volunteers in a fast-paced environment dedicated to funding life‑saving research.

This role involves manual handling of furniture, lifting items and adhering to safety standards, with weekend and bank holiday shifts on a rota. 16 hours per week, across 7 days.

Qualifications

• Previous retail experience isn't essential.
• Confident working within a team and guiding volunteers.
• Ability to work weekends and bank holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Organise donated items and prepare them for sale; handle and move deliveries.
• Ensure shop floor is well stocked at all times.
• Follow safety regulations and promote health and wellbeing.
• Identify unsaleable donations for recycling.
• Keep stockroom tidy and organised.
