Job summary

British Heart Foundation is seeking a part-time Warehouse Assistant in Romford to support our busy furniture stores. You’ll help organise donations, move deliveries, and ensure the shop floor is stocked while working weekends and bank holidays on a rota. The role involves manual handling and lifting furniture.

You’ll join a team that values safety, teamwork and a hands-on approach, with opportunities to learn more about BHF and its reuse agenda across the UK.

Qualifications

• Previous retail experience isn’t essential; a neat and tidy approach helps.
• Comfortable guiding volunteers and working in a team.
• Ability to stay calm and efficient in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Organise donated items and prepare them for sale; handle and move deliveries.
• Keep the shop floor well stocked and tidy.
• Work safely and promote wellbeing in all duties.
• Identify unsaleable donations for recycling and disposal.
