Job summary

FirstPort is seeking a Visiting Development Manager to oversee a development site in Brentwood. The role is 25 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 10am–3pm, with a salary of £17,485 per year, plus benefits.

You will supervise safety checks, manage contractors, support residents, and work with a local team to maintain community standards while delivering services. This part-time position offers flexibility and meaningful contribution to quality housing.

Qualifications

• Customer service passion to provide an exceptional level of service.
• Natural communicator with the ability to resolve issues effectively.
• Understanding of health & safety and handling emergencies.
• Able to operate Microsoft Office and learn new systems.
• Organised and experienced in keeping accurate records.
• Outgoing, proactive, team oriented and innovative.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high profile around the development / office and ensure residents are checked within requirements.
• Carry out daily checks to ensure the building is safe and secure; maintain records and protect data; keep communal areas clean and well maintained.
• Manage works by raising orders, coordinating contractors, monitoring progress and signing off completion.
• Encourage and support the formation of a Residents Association and community social events.
• Build links with residents, families, local authorities, doctors and social workers as required.
• In emergencies, contact the appropriate response team or authorities.
• Assist with sales processes with Retirement Homesearch and welcome new residents.
• Collaborate with local peers and travel to team/company meetings as needed.
