Job summary

Via is seeking a Trainee Recovery Practitioner for Cheshire West & Chester (Ellesmere Port base). You will work with people from diverse backgrounds, providing recovery-focused support for substance misuse and engaging in a flexible schedule.

The role requires lived experience and a pathway to complete the OCNLR Level 2 Award in Peer Mentoring within a year. Salary is £26,228 per annum, pro-rata to hours agreed, with up to 24 hours per week and permanent/part-time status.

Qualifications

  • Lived experience of substance misuse is preferred.
  • Must possess OCNLR Level 2 Award in Peer Mentoring or be able to complete within 1 year of employment.
  • Compassion, good communication skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Support people with substance misuse by providing advice, support and recovery-focused interventions.
  • Manage a low-level caseload through clients’ recovery journeys.
  • Carry out triage and comprehensive substance misuse assessments and develop person-centered recovery plans.
  • Promote screening and harm-reduction interventions including alcohol screening and BBV awareness.
  • Identify risks and act according to safeguarding policies.
  • Support service users to achieve and sustain recovery, improving health and well-being.
  • Be flexible with working hours, including late evenings.
