Job summary

The National Autistic Society in Burnham-on-Sea is seeking a caring Support Worker to help nine autistic adults live fuller lives in a residential setting.

This part-time role (15 hours per week) requires flexibility for evenings and weekends; a driving licence is preferred. You will work with individual support plans and daily routines, supported by a thorough induction and autism training.

Qualifications

• Inspiring others with a positive attitude towards supporting vulnerable people
• Experience with autistic people is helpful but not essential
• Personal experience or a passion for helping others is welcome

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care (bathing, dressing, eating)
• Encourage activities they enjoy (swimming, hiking, arts & crafts)
• Support life skills & independence (budgeting, shopping, meal preparation)
