Job summary

NHS Grampian invites applications for a motivated, enthusiastic, and highly organised Support Manager to join the Acute Division of Surgery in a part-time job-share role. The position supports operational and strategic delivery of surgical services while contributing to improvements in patient access and waiting times.

Working Monday to Wednesday, with flexibility at interview, you will collaborate with the Unit Operational Managers, Service Managers, Clinical Leads and fellow Support Managers

Qualifications

• Experience within an NHS operational, service management or healthcare environment.
• In-depth knowledge of waiting times management and targets.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of national waiting times standards and patient access targets.
• Assist with service planning, performance monitoring, and operational management.
• Collaborate with clinical and managerial colleagues to identify and implement service improvements.
• Coordinate patient pathways to ensure timely access to care.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and service redesign projects.
• Lead the management of patient complaints and liaise with staff to ensure resolution and compliance with NHS Grampian guidelines.
• Work with Unit Operational Managers and Service Managers to provide operational and administrative support across surgical services.
