Job summary

St Christopher’s Hospice in Downham is seeking a Store Assistant Manager to lead a busy trading environment, supervising volunteers and managing stock from donation to display. You will share opening and closing duties and help drive excellent customer service in-store.

The role is permanent, 21 hours per week on a 7-day rota, with a pro-rata salary of £26,229 per annum. Join a dedicated team contributing to the local community through sustainable retail.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy, hands-on environment with the ability to deliver at pace.
• Strong customer-facing service approach and communication skills.
• Experience supervising volunteers or a team is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of volunteers and store staff, including opening and closing duties.
• Oversee stock journey from sorting and pricing to display and sale.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and store presentation.
• Support the Store Manager in day-to-day operations and be prepared to step in during absences.
