Job summary

The Federation of Darlington Nursery Schools is seeking an inspirational SENDCo to coordinate and advocate for SEND across both nursery settings. This non-teaching, strategic role focuses on policy, partnerships with external services, and supporting families without a classroom timetable.

The successful candidate will work across two sites on a part-time schedule, with a PES-based pay band and pro-rata SEN allowance, starting January 2027. Safeguarding and DBS checks are required.

Qualifications

• QTS is required.
• NASENCO or NPQSENCO qualification.
• Experience managing Early Years SEND.
• Ability to work across multiple sites in a part-time role.
• Strong communication and empathy with families.

Responsibilities

• Oversee SEND policy and inclusion strategies across both nurseries.
• Coordinate SEND provisions and interventions on 3 days per week.
• Collaborate with external services (EHCPs, health, education).
• Lead on EHCP pathways and inclusion funding where applicable.
• Support families and upskill Level 3 staff through professional development.
